WINTER AT SNOWSHOE
No other resort in the Southeast or mid-Atlantic offers the terrain, snow, or amenities Snowshoe does. Snowshoe gets as
much as 180” of natural snow each year with a 100% snowmaking capabilities on 275 acres of terrain, guess are
guaranteed to find fresh snow from November through April. The mountain offers 57 trails ranging from beginner to expert,
2 expert trails with 1500’ vertical drop and 1.5 miles long, Night skiing on 14 trails at the Silver Creek ski area, 2 high-speed
detachable quad lifts, 2 fixed quad lifts, and 7 triple lifts. The Ruckus Ridge Adventure Park and the Split Rock pools offers
kids and their parents a great place to have fun together. The resort also offers plenty of options at the Kids World
Learning Centers with different programs depending on age, skills and style giving the adults a chance to get away for a
little. For snowboarders and freeskiers, three awesome terrain parks offer everything from a 450 foot half pipe to monster
tabletops, rails and other features.
f you are looking for a different winter experience, this is the place to be, venture into snowmobile, take a leisurely tour in
an enclosed Snowcat, get a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride around the resort grounds, cross-country ski, or dine on
fresh salmon at the Sunrise Backcountry Hut. At night keep the party going, enjoy the variety of restaurants and nightclubs
while the kids take a night out. You can not ask for more!!!!
SUMMER TIME AT SNOWSHOE
During summer time in Snowshoe, feel the wind in your hair on a rolling mountain bike trail. Snowshoe is top mountain
biking destinations. (More than 120 miles of lift and shuttle accessed trails) Summer temperatures rarely reach 80
degrees. The air is cool and crisp when it’s blistering hot below. Miles of mountain biking, hiking and horse trails cross the
resort’s 11,000-acres.The Raven Golf Club provides world-class play with breathtaking vistas from every hole. (Golfweek
Magazine ranked us for the third straight year the #1 Public Access Golf Course in West Virginia). It’s the kid of landscape
that inspires adventure, and Snowshoe has the tools and experience to help you make the most of it.
At the resort, Snowshoe’s Outpost Adventure Park is the place for extreme fun – Caching air at the skate park or scaling
the sculptures “rock” wall- as well as old fashioned pleasures like miniature golf and the pirate ship playground. Shavers
Lake and Split Rock Pools offers a watery summer reprieve from the wilder adventures. You can also take the Adventure
Express down-mountain for a hike on the Greenbrier River Trail, or a ride on the Cass Scenic Train and a visit to the
National Radio Astronomy Observatory. You can enjoy guided canoe or tubing trips down the scenic Greenbrier River and
caving and rock climbing excursions among other things. Snowshoe now offer a wide variety of guided fly fishing, spin
casting and hunting packages to satisfy the sportsman in all of us.
Downhill Mountain Biking
The Snowshoe Mountain Bike Park is nationally recognized as
one of the best in the United States. Sculpted into the mountain,
the park offers nearly 20 trails, 1500 vertical feet of decent and
chairlifts and shuttles to return riders to the summit.

Off-Road Dune Buggy Tours
Off-road dune buggy tours are our newest revved-up
entertainment. You can choose to take the controls or just be a
passenger in these adrenaline charged vehicles. Our guides
will lead you across our resort and through our backcountry trail
network to see the forest like never before!

Geocache Hunts
This summer, Snowshoe Mountain is introducing geocache
hunts across the mountain. You'll receive a GPS unit along with
some instruction and then you'll be sent out to hunt for the
caches. Over the course of the hunt, details will be revealed at
successive caches to help you find the final cache and the prize
inside!

Sporting Clays
"Pull" your way to a fun and relaxing addition to any Snowshoe
Mountain Vacation. Snowshoe offers a 5 Stand Course and a 12

Split Rock Pools
Relax at Split Rock Pools after a hard day of enjoying our
mountain playground. This indoor / outdoor aqua center
features slides, several hot tubs, a sauna and plenty of room to
relax while catching a few rays.
Split Rock Pools is $9 per person and free for ages 3 and
under. Split Rock Pools is open from 12pm to 8pm daily from
May 23 to October 12.

Hiking and Nature Walks
Miles and miles of hiking trails spread across over 11,000
acres of unspoiled wilderness is why people love to visit the
resort. You can grab your backpack and head-out on the trails
yourself, or, through the Adventure program, we offer several
guided hiking programs that let you take advantage of our
mountain playground with a group.
Shavers Lake & Lift Rides
Experience Shavers Lake - the highest elevated lake in West
Virginia. After a scenic ride on the Ballhooter Lift, you'll canoe,
kayak and paddleboat rentals, hiking trails, a playground and
more is offered at the lake.

Adventure Express
Pocahontas County and the area surrounding Snowshoe
Mountain offer plenty of other ways for you to have fun. Whether
it's a trip over to Cass or a hike in the Cranberry Wilderness,
there are endless opportunities for exploration.

Parent or guardian must accompany all guests under age 18.
For any child under the age of 3 parents must provide car seat
(state law).
Depart 9am and Return 4:00pm. Meet your shuttle driver at The

Snowmobiling
Snowshoe's most popular winter activity! Snowmobile tours
make after hours on the slopes fun - enjoy guided one hour
snowmobile tours each night during the winter.
This is the perfect way to cap off a great day of skiing and riding.

Thursday - Sunday: $65 per driver and $39 per passenger

Snowcat Tours
This unique tour provides an exclusive glimpse of Snowshoe
after Dark. Grab your friends and family, climb into the heated
cab our specialized grooming machine and sit back as your
guide fills you in on the unique history of Snowshoe Mountain,
the intriguing world of Snowmaking, and the important duties of
the nighttime grooming staff.
Tours meet at the Outdoor Adventure Village Outpost next to the

Kids' Night Out (Guilt-Free Child Care)
Kids' Night Out offers mom and dad a guilt-free way to spend
some time away from the kids. While you are out at dinner, your
children are enjoying themselves with other kids their own age.
This program gives children the opportunity to enjoy indoor and
outdoor programs such as scavenger hunts, arts and crafts,
storytelling and campfires.
Beginning December 18, 2008 each Thursday, Friday and
Saturday night for the 08-09 ski season

Details: Kids Night out is available for children 5 to 12 years of

Tubing Park
Laughter fills the air as you slide down the 6 story tubing hill at
the Tube Park at the Silver Creek area. This is a perfect activity
for families and for those who aren't interested in skiing or
snowboarding.
Early Season: Thursday-Saturday - 3-9pm
Winter Season: Sunday-Friday - 1-3pm, 3-5pm, 5-7pm, 7-9pm
Saturdays & Holidays - 11-1pm, 1-3pm, 3-5pm, 5-7pm, 7-9pm
Cost: $17 for a two hour tubing ticket.

180" of snow and 11,000 acres of wilderness is a great
combination when you've got a set of snowshoes on your feet.

Night skiing
Slopes open at 9:00am and most lifts close at 4:30, except the
Western Express which closes at 4:15pm. Night skiing is
available at Silver Creek until 9:00pm (10:00pm on weekends
and holidays). The Mountaineer Terrain Park is open for
nighttime until the last lift stops running. Night skiing is included
when you purchase a Freedom lift ticket.
Split Rock Pools
Just like any great swimming hole, Split Rock Pools is the
perfect place for kids to splash around while making new
friends. With a geyser, water filled dumping whiskey barrel and
slides an indoor & outdoor swimming area. Split Rock is not for
just the kids - with two large hot tubs and a sauna, Split Rock
Pools is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day on the
mountain.
It is open from 3pm - 9pm on Sunday-Thursday and 1pm -
10pm Friday and Saturday
A $6 fee is required for other guests, and kids ages 3 and under
are free.
Cross Country Skiing
Try a relaxing change of pace from downhill skiing and head out
into the backcountry on a pair of cross country skis. Trail passes
are available through the Village Outpost. Trail passes are
required to access the Snowshoe Backcountry trail network and
are available for $19 at the Depot.

Snow Monsters
Snowmonsters is a fun and exciting way for kids to learn more
about skiing and snowboarding as well as more about
Snowshoe Mountain. Packed full of interactive and animated
characters, movies, cartoons and games, Snowmonsters is a
great way to introduce your young one to the sports of skiing and
snowboarding.
